Wirikuta, a Huichol Tribute in Puerto Los Cabos

The Wirikuta botanical park opened its doors in 2016 where Puerto Los Cabos honors the fascinating Huichol culture, Wirikuta as a sanctuary of desert and endemic plants hosts 70 thousand specimens of 95 different species from Mexico, South America and Africa gathered in large gardens, greenhouses and solariums.

Wirikuta and the Environment

Wirikuta’s mission is the conservation of natural habitat, the repopulation and recovery of native wild species, and to teach environmental sustainability in order to promote awareness of the native biosphere. As part of this mission research continues to find new ways to repopulate native species.

As a way to spread it’s educational message, Wirikuta is open to the public and features a weekly dinner and show that highlights the Huichol heritage.

A Spectacular Los Cabos Nighttime Theater Experience.

Staged in the Wirikuta garden pyramids this artisanal experience makes you vibrate in the same frequency as a Huichol, discovering details about the culture and accompanied with typical Mexican food, it is a spectacle worth seeing by every member of the family.

Wixarika, also know as the Huichol Indigenous People are recognized for having preserved their spiritual, cultural, and religious traditions for a thousand years. According to Wixarika legend, the world was created in Wirikuta, a sacred zone in San Luis Potosí San Luis Potosi, México.
